We have entertained a group of high school students to 3 sessions at the club to introduce them to the game.
The students were instructed on the ettiquette of the game, the characteristics of the bowl bias and other pertinent information.

The students teamed up for doubles play with an experienced club member supervising and instructing some of the rules and techniques of the game.
Although the play was not extensive due to time restraint the students seemed to enjoy themselves.

We had 2 fun tournaments on JUne 20th, the first was a 8 end game of singles.

After lunch we han an eliminatiion competition.
3 teams of 3 players played so that the player whos ball was furthest from the jack took that ball out of play.
Play continues until only one player had bowls left.

CANADA DAY CELEBRATION

Thanks to Barb Brooks, Pat Gemmell, Chad Reid and Pauline Hill who were at the club from 10:00 am until 4 p.m. promoting the club and the sport of lawn bowls.

Approximately 35-40 persons rolled a few bowls and to learn about the game. We handed out about 30 pamphlets also.
It was a successful day in that we had this great opportunity to promote our sport.
Time will tell if we get new members from this day of promotion
