TRIBUTE TO DAVID HILL
Members and area bowlers were out on Monday, June 27, to enjoy a tournament
during the day and a meal together in the evening. It was also an evening
to honour past member David Hill who passed away last September at the age
of 59. David Hill bowling memorabilia , along with a photograph and a
description of his bowling accomplishments were framed in plastic. Centre
Hastings Reeve Tom Deline was present and spoke of his personal memories of
David Hill.
The club members were also celebrating the recent installation of the new
plastic backboards and plinth boards with the help of a Trillium Grant. The
innovative new back boards and plinth boards are believed to be the first
time recycled plastic wood has been used for such an installation in
Ontario. Owner of the company who installed the plastic wood, Randy Wagar
was also present to help celebrate this recent project. This is not an
inexpensive repair and members of the Madoc club are very grateful for the
money received from the Trillium Foundation. They are also very pleased with
the new installation, particularly as they should not have to replace the
plastic boards for a very long time.

The Madoc and District Lawn Bowling Club recently recognized past member
David Hill for his contribution to the club and the sport of the lawn
bowling in Ontario. Tom Deline(l) , Matthew Houtby ( president of the club)
and Randy Wagar (r) hold the framed memorabilia which was put together by
his wife and family.
