CLUB NEWS FOR 2004

OPENING DAY May 4th 2004
We stayed with tradition with a jitney in the afternoon, pot luck supper followed by the Spring General Meeting.

THE CHARITY TOURNAMENT JUNE 1

Teams from the Municipality of Center Hastings, the Madoc Fire Department, the Madoc Township Fire epartment and the OPP competed for a $600 prize to the winning team to go to their favourite charity.
Each of the four groups fielded four teams and they played 3 four end games to determine the winning team.
This event is another of Dave Hills brain childs to promote interest in the game of bowls and was organised by Pauline Hill the club treasurer and in club tournament organiser.
Members of the club acted as coaches and fill in members of various teams who were missing their full complement.

The evening ended with hot dogs and coffee, a fitting end to an excellent evening of fun.

Played at Kingston LBC on May 29/30th. They played in the Area tournament held in Burlington and were eliminated from the medal round.


CONGRATULATIONS TO DONALD ALEXANDER.

He plays in the Canadian championships in Vancouver Aug 9 to 11th.
There will be 7 players competing for the canadian title.

TRIBUTE TO DAVID HILL It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David as the result of a stroke
David was a visionary and worked very hard to achieve his goals.
, The club will sorely miss his ideas and the care which he lavished on the greens.
